Elizabeth Jikiemi

DATA, AI, STRATEGY...
My Squad

I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, in a home where community came before convenience. The busy streets shaped how I think about strategy, resilience, and collective effort. As a child, I admired sports legends like
Jay Jay OkochaImage and Thierry Henry, Image not just for their talent but for their grace under pressure and their ability to change the pace of the game. I later found the same kind of magic in the Polgar Sisters. Image and their bold approach to chess. That’s where my love for systems began. In places where structure and instinct work together.

My earliest leadership lessons didn’t come from classrooms. They came from organizing food drives in underserved communities and creating spaces for women to feel safe and heard. In 2012, I started The Food Shelter Initiative as a response to the hunger and hardship I could no longer ignore. What began as an urgent act of service has now become a long-term commitment to dignity, equity, and economic access. We have reached more than fifty thousand families through food, training, and hope.

While working across nonprofit programs, I noticed something. Compassion alone wasn’t enough to sustain meaningful impact. We needed structure. We needed the ability to scale. That’s what led me into the world of data, technology, and strategy.

Outside of work, I still play chess. I mentor young women in tech. I write about the future of ethical innovation. And I stay rooted in the belief that no matter how advanced our tools become, the goal remains the same. To build systems that serve people, not the other way around.
